1. Median home prices rose an average of 9% to $355,000.
2. Multi-family homes (condo's, townhomes) went up an average of 10% to $248,527

2019 Design Trends

Designer and realtor extraordinaire, Cristylyn Garcia, enlightens us with designer trends for 2019.
About a year and half ago Cristylyn advised me that golds were coming back and I thought she was crazy. I was also thinking along the lines of gold shower trims, similar to the 80s and 90s.

But we’ll start with the gold and coppers, because they are starting to come back?
Yes of course, you’re seeing them in model homes and designer magazines. So it’s not just in Utah, because as you know, sometimes Utah can be a little behind. You’re seeing it everywhere, in kitchen and bathroom hardware; fixtures and lighting. It’s not just your accessories.
My picks would be the kitchen hardware, faucets and of course gold accents. Gold accents around the house.

Wire Fraud Warning For Homebuyers

The growing issue of wire fraud is happening in our real estate industry in Utah. There are people who are watching your email and when you are closing the deal and are ready to wire money to the seller, they pose themselves as the title company to have you wire that money to them instead.

Once your money is wired, it’s gone and you will not get it back.
How does a wire fraud work?
We recently had a client who received an email which apparently looked from our company. The email dropped into their inbox after the closing disclosure had gone out to the client. The disclosure document basically tells the client what they need to bring in to the closing. It also includes all of the figures and charges of the deal.
Since someone was watching their email they included the exact amount and prompted the client to wire the amount to them. The client was cautious enough and so he texted the agency the email snapshot in order to confirm. It was easy ...
